I messed up my domain registration a bit and am still trying to figure things out! If you are looking for CityGalKnits you can still find me here at citygalknits.wordpress.com. I think i’ll have to wait 60 days to transfer the domain name over to the correct blog. Hopefully everything will work out in the end!!

Lets Dye!

Well, I finally got my stuff in to dye my first batch of yarn! “Dye your first batch?” you say? Well, we all have to start somewhere. I’m starting this blog (and my “company”) on both a whim and the hope that one day I might be able to sell the fruits of my craft. Here’s to the future!

I decided that the best way to start was to simply buy a kit with a cariety of yarns and a few colors of dye.  I have a tendency to go overboard, so I though this would be the best way to start – limited number of yarns and limited colors. I am nervous, but they say the best way to get over the fear of the dye is to just do it! I will try to dye my first skein this weekend.  Hopefully it won’t be to darn messy! Good luck to me!

Welcome to Deep South Dyeworks!

Welcome! This is all new to me: yarn, blogging, dyeing, knitting, and all things yarny. However, I have become obsessed (in the good way), and am now interested in all things to do with yarn and fiber! I plan on dyeing my own yarns soon, and I wanted to chronicle the experience here. It should be a totally fun and messy experience, but I am totally looking forward to it! In the mean time enjoy my experiences as I learn to knit!
